DSR Fishing Report for 31 August 2026:

 REPORT:

There were anglers fishing pretty much the entire length of the run. Angler density was low to moderate with angler success slow to moderate. Most anglers reported hooking into several fish and landing a few over the course of the day. Fish started moving upriver this evening as reported by a couple of anglers.

 CFS / WEATHER:

The flow from the dam is currently showing 250 CFS and is scheduled to remain at that level until 11:59 PM on Tuesday Sept 1^st, but since the Pineville Gauge is currently at 236 CFS, the flow out of the dam is less than the posted 250CFS. Water temperature was 64F first thing this morning, and evening temperature was 70F. Tonight: Rain showers this evening with numerous thunderstorms developing overnight. Low 64F. Winds SE at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 100%. Tomorrow: Rain showers early with overcast skies later in the day. High 77F. Winds SW at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 70%. DSR Fishing Report for 30 August 2026:

REPORT:

We had a low to moderate number of anglers join us on the run again today.  Overall fishing did seem to taper off some from the previous (2) days, however.  Fishing success would best be described as quiet to slow throughout the run.  Primarily Kings with a handful of browns were brought to hand today.

Pictured  below is one of our guests who connected with a dandy Atlantic yesterday mid river.

The flow from the dam is currently at 185 CFS and is scheduled to remain at that level until 11:59 PM on Friday, the 30^th.  The Pineville Gauge is currently at 232 CFS. Water temperature was between 64F and 65F.

REPORT:

Both morning and afternoon reports basically mirrored yesterday’s results; a moderate number of anglers through the day, from the lower to the upper reaches of the run, with slow to good results primarily on Kings with a handful of Browns mixed in, along with an Atlantic in the middle portion.  (No reports of Cohos or Steelhead at the time of this report.)

 REPORT: Today our angler density was moderate. Angling success ranged from moderate to good. Our guests did well in the morning and as this report is being written, the afternoon guests were on par with the morning.  The primary fish taken were kings, with several browns, (browns in am.), and a lone Coho in the pm.

 CFS / WEATHER:

The flow from the dam is currently at 185 CFS and is scheduled to remain at that level until 11:59 PM on Friday, the 29^th.  The Pineville gauge is currently at 248 CFS. Tonight: Generally clear.  REPORT:

Today our angler density was moderate. Angling success ranged from moderate to good. People were spread evenly throughout the run, predominantly focusing on the middle section. Pictured below is Denny with nice brown caught on a green egg.

DSR Fishing Report for 26 August 2026: REPORT: We had 36 guests join us on the run today. A majority of our guests trickled in over the morning hours, with the remainder of our guests joining us on the run beginning early afternoon. As our earlier guests left the run, there were reports of multiple sightings of salmon moving up-river. A fair percentage of our guests were able to at least hook up with a salmon, however those brought to hand were generally one’s and two’s. As we moved into late afternoon and early evening, those guests who came off the run reported greater degrees of success with both hooking up and bringing salmon to hand; fish became more active as daylight diminished. CFS / WEATHER: The flow from the dam is currently at 185 CFS and is scheduled to remain at that level until 11:59 PM on Thursday, the 27^th.  The Pineville gauge is currently at 244 CFS. DSR Fishing Report for 25 August 2026: REPORT: we had 28 guests join us on the run today.  About a third of the guests checked in during the morning, a few trickled in during late morning to early afternoon, and the last third of the total anglers checked in (curiously) during the period of an hour starting around 5:30 PM.  The reports from almost all anglers were that there were multiple fish, in the double-digits, presumably salmon, splashing and working their way upriver throughout most of the day.  A few lucky guests were able to bring ones and twos to hand, but for most of our guests they were only able to bear witness. We had about ½ dozen guests join us on the run today, (with a pair still on the run at the time of this report.)  There were a couple of fish sighted in the lower portion of the run but none taken to hand.

REPORT:

We had about a dozen anglers join us on the run throughout the day, (with a few still fishing as this report is being written.)  There were a handful of salmon sighted; a pair near the upper portion of the run as well a pair in the middle section; no Salmon brought to hand as of yet.

The flow from the dam is 185 CFS and is scheduled to remain at that level until 11:59 PM on the 23^rd..  The Pineville gauge is currently at 228 CFS.

We had a handful of fisherman join us on the run during the morning hours without connecting with any Salmon; an afternoon guest just departed at the time of this report and also went without any hook ups or sightings.

REPORT:

There were several anglers on the run today, one angler landed a nice sized Largemouth Bass, a couple of Smallmouth and a Fallfish. No Salmon were sighted. The water temperature was between 67F and 69F.

DSR AM Fishing Report for 18 August 2026:

 

REPORT:

  First King Salmon landed! Season pass holder Marty joined early on the run today and landed one big King Salmon and saw two others moving up in the middle section of the run. We have a few other anglers currently on the run that haven’t reported any other fish movement as of this report. Well update you in the PM fishing report with any other salmon seen or caught.

DSR Fishing Report for 17 August 2026:   REPORT:  A report was received early this morning, from a season passholder, regarding the sighting of two large (unidentified) fish splashing and working their way upriver through the middle section of the run; he left the run mid-morning and returned in the late afternoon to try again (he subsequently reported no more sightings or success).  Two other guests did not report any significant activity, although one of the pair was able to bring four Smallmouth Bass to hand, one of which was a chunky, approximately 16”, bass.  Our last guest did not get out on the run until after 7 PM, in his annual pursuit to be the first to bring a salmon to hand within the DSR run; as of the time of this report, the guest has not called in any status.   CFS / WEATHER: The flow from the dam is 185 CFS and is scheduled to remain at that level until 11:59 PM Monday evening, August 17^th.^.  The Pineville gauge is currently at 236 CFS   Tonight:  Some clouds. About ½ dozen anglers joined us on the run today, with one of our Season Pass holders fishing currently.  Still no landing  or sightings of Salmon so far.  Water temperatures hovering around the 70 degree F mark.

REPORT:

We had a pair of Season Pass Holder fish during the morning with a few fall fish caught between them.  Water temperature was 70 degrees F at dawn, climbing to 74 degrees F at noon.  A separate guest joined us late morning through mid afternoon with no luck; no Salmon sighted in either iteration.  We have a Season Pass holder just headed down to the run at the time of this report; will update with anything significant.

Today was the last day for Spey Nation. We had a few anglers on the run during the morning hours that resulting in just (1) fall fish brought to hand.  We currently have a pair of anglers on the water at the time of this report and will update with any significant results.  Water temperature ranged from 72F to 75F.
