CFS at the dam is 350, until at least midnight tonight. CFS at the Pineville gauge is 644. Our morning air temperature started at 45 degrees, and climbed to 57. Water temperatures started at 53 degrees and also climbed, coincidentally, to 57. We started the day overcast, but skies slowly cleared to partly cloudy with diffused sunshine. Winds were very light and variable all day. Simply a beautiful day to be out and about. One guest joined us just after opening and fished until noon. He tangled with a few large Fallfish, but Smallmouth Bass and Steelhead remained elusive today. The overnight forecast predicts a temperature of 45 degrees, with the forecast for tomorrow "Partly cloudy skies. High 72F. Winds light and variable."

5/25/2025-Mostly cloudy skies gradually cleared up a bit and for the first time in quite some time the sun actually made an appearance, with temperatures ranging from mid 40s to the mid-50s by noon time, (water temperature was 53 / 54 degrees throughout the morning.) Our guests fished the middle and lower reaches with a few Smallmouth caught, but not in any great numbers, (possibly the cooler water temperature?) Tomorrow’s weather will be similar to todays with clouds to start giving way to ever increasing sunny skies, temperatures making it to the sixties with light winds. The flow from the dam today was 350 cfs and without rain in the forecast may stay at that flow over the next 24 hours.  The Pineville gauge is currently at 717 cfs. https://www.safewaters.com/facility/lighthouse-hill

Fishing Report for 05/11/2025-We had a handful of anglers join us on this very sunny Mid-May Sunday.  The water temperature was 53 degrees at Sunup and rose to around 58 degrees by the middle of the day.  Steelhead and smallmouth were caught today by the majority of anglers that fished, with steelhead just nudging out bass as the predominant species hooked and landed.  The upper and middle portions of the run saw the most activity for steelhead while the middle to lower portions seemed to hold more smallmouth.  Swinging flies and Centerpins with floats and beads were the techniques used today by the anglers I had a chance to speak with. Tomorrow’s weather calls for bright sunny skies throughout the day, temperatures in the 40s at dawn moving all the way to the mid-70 by mid-afternoon, coupled with light winds not to exceed 10 mph. 05/06/2025-Showers and cloudy skies greeted us at dawn this morning, with winds from the W / SW 8-10 mph.  We had about (15) guests with us scattered through the entire day.  Results from those I spoke with were generally positive with a mix of steelhead and smallmouth, (some of the smallmouth exceeding 5 lbs.), and the steelhead mostly healed up from spawning.  Techniques that were successful today ranged from Centerpins with beads or egg sacs under a float, to swinging, to casting spinners, and even night crawlers.  Water temperature stayed in the mid 50s the entire day. We do have significant rain in the forecast with amounts initially calling for up to 3" of rain between this afternoon and tomorrow morning, but have eased back as of the time of this report, to around and 1" plus.  The rain will stay with us for a large portion of tomorrow, with winds again from the W / SW 6-10 mph. with temperatures in the 50s.  The flow from the dam is currently listed to increase to 1500 cfs at 9:00pm tonight and to stay that way through 11:59 tomorrow evening; however, as a precaution, and especially if you are traveling a great distance to join us tomorrow, please verify with safewaters.com prior to your movement to ensure the increase at the dam hasn't increased to 2000 cfs or higher, as the DSR is closed to fishing IF the flow were to bump up to that level or higher.

We had just under a dozen guests on the run today, some showing up early morning, and a few only fishing the last few hours of daylight.  The flow was reduced to 750 cfs from the dam at 7:00am this morning.  Only a few reports of any hook ups and those were split evenly between steelhead and ever increasing numbers of smallmouth entering the river.  Water temperature was 51 early and rose to around 54 mid day.  Tomorrow the flow will is scheduled to be reduced further to 500 cfs at 7:00 am; we'll have rain / showers for a large part of the day with temperatures starting out and staying in the 50s with light N / NW winds 5-8 mph.  The gauge at Pineville is currently at 980 cfs.

Fishing Report for 05/01/2025-We had a couple anglers on the run today stretched out over the entire day.  The lone angler I had a chance to speak with caught several large smallmouth, (which he was targeting), using Rapala’s; no steelhead reported.  The water temperature was 54 degrees midday. Tomorrow we should have showers during the first half of the day with temperatures in the high 50s increasing to the high 60s by afternoon, with showers diminishing and partly cloudy skies for the remainder of the day with winds from the SW / W, 8-10 mph. The flow from the dam is scheduled to decrease at 7:00am tomorrow morning to 750 cfs, where it’s scheduled to remain until the following morning at 7:00am at which time it will further decrease to 500 cfs and stay that way through 11:59pm Saturday evening.
