Today's Report

September 1, 2025

PM Fishing Report for 9/1/2025-Sunny skies turned to overcast this afternoon on the run, but the temperatures were moderate, and the light winds made for a pleasant afternoon.  The water temperature mid afternoon climbed to 70 degrees. The flow from the dam is scheduled to remain at 185 cfs through at least midnight tomorrow evening; the gauge at Pineville is currently reading 209 cfs. The estuary didn’t have any anglers this afternoon; kings were seen below the route 3 bridge swimming back and forth but not committing to making any major moves upstream. The lower section had light guest activity with Kings being the primary fish brought to hand. The middle and upper sections seemed to have the most guest activity with both Kings and Cohos in the mix. Our top section of the DSR had low guest activity as well as any fish brought to hand.  We didn’t have reports of any Atlantics or Steelhead this afternoon. Tomorrow’s weather forecast is for temperatures ranging from the 60s to mid-70s with mostly sunny skies and light winds from the S / SW. Our river restoration project will re-commence tomorrow, Tuesday September 2nd and scheduled to be completed NLT Friday, September 5th.  During that time from ‘No Name Hole / #19 on our DSR Map downstream will be closed to fishing.

Today's Report

September 1, 2025

The flow from the dam is scheduled to remain at 185 CFS until our drought conditions are alleviated. The CFS at the Pineville gauge is 213. We have hazy skies, bright sunshine, it's dead calm, dry. Air temperature is 61 degrees, water temperature is 64 degrees. The river restoration project, paused during the Labor Day weekend, will re-commence Tuesday, September 2nd, with the completion now scheduled for September 5th (Friday). As before, angling below # 19 (No Name) is prohibited during the period of the river restoration construction. River Patrol 9 AM fishing report (this report is a subjective, generalized, evaluation of fishing conditions within large, yet specific, areas of the run, compiled through personal observations of the River Patrol assigned to these areas, as well as those of our guests angling within these areas, over a span of several hours, and may differ from your personal observations): The estuary section reported both Chinook ("King") and Coho salmon primarily holding, with ones and twos moving upriver through the North channel. There are no guests currently present in this section of the run; the lower section reported a moderate number of guests present, experiencing slow to moderate action, with a mix of Kings and Cohos, that are both moving upriver as well as back downriver (probably the Cohos); the middle section reported (from bottom to top of this section) moderate to low guest density, experiencing moderate to slow fishing activity, primarily Kings, with a sprinkling of Steelhead, that are both moving upriver with some choosing to hold in pools; the upper section reported low guest density, quiet conditions, with Kings moving upriver; the top section reported low guest density, experiencing slow fishing, all Kings pushing through. The forecast for tomorrow is: "A few passing clouds, otherwise generally sunny. High 78F. Winds light and variable."
