The dam release was reduced down to 250 CFS after the brief stint of 1500 CFS earlier this week. With air temperatures only reaching a high of 71 F this week, water temperatures have dropped just a hair with a high of 66 F recorded this week, down from last week's high of 69 F. Based on the reports from our anglers over the week, the small mouth activity was a bit quieter than last week. Conditions this weekend are expected to be bit warmer reaching about 75 F, with a mixture of sunny and partly cloudy weather. The dam release is currently scheduled to remain at 250 CFS until 11:59 PM Sunday (6/2). Please monitor safewaters.com/facility/lighthouse-hill for updated dam release information.

Some warmer weather this week, but a mix of some rain and thunderstorms kept things fairly cool with a low water temperature of 61 F and a high of 68 F. The anglers that joined us over the course of the week continue to report decent small mouth action, with a bit more activity reported earlier in the week. Most angling efforts have been focused in the middle and lower sections of the property, with little reported from the upper sections. Conditions this weekend are forecasted to be slightly warmer with a bit less sun, reaching a high of 80 F tomorrow. The dam release is currently scheduled to remain at 215 CFS until 11:59 PM tomorrow (5/25). Please monitor safewaters.com/facility/lighthouse-hill for updated dam release information.

I guess Spring is over and Summer has begun. High overnight temperatures and a high during the day of 83 degrees resulted in rapidly rising water temperatures. Early this morning the water temperature was 61 degrees and by mid-day had risen to 68. More heat than needed and too soon. Tomorrow's forecast calls for even warmer temperatures than today with high's getting into the mid- to upper 80's. Reports of fishing over the weekend indicate that although there were cooler temperatures, the fishing was slower than it was today. The few anglers that joined us today did, however, have some success with the bass. Good numbers and good sized bass well. Water from the dam remains at the base summer flow of 215cfs and the current flow at Pineville is 277cfs

While we've seen off and on rain and heavy overcast, air and water temperatures have steadily risen over the week. Morning water temperatures at the start of the week were a recorded 54 F, and today 60 F, reaching about 64 F by mid day despite fairly heavy overcast. A reduction in the dam release mid week from 500 CFS to 350 CFS, likely contributed to the fairly quick increase in the water temps. Overall, a majority of the anglers that joined us this week indicated productive outings with mostly smallmouth bass reported, with the addition of a couple of lingering drop-back steelhead. Also typical for this time of year, reports of gar in the lower sections of the property. According to Safewaters, the dam release was adjusted mid day today, from 350 to 215 CFS, where it is currently scheduled to remain until 11:59 PM tomorrow (5/18). Please monitor safewaters.com/facility/lighthouse-hill for updated dam release scheduling.

Several anglers joined us on the run today and enjoyed a rain shower and plenty of sunshine. No Steelhead were reported today (either brought to hand or seen), but Smallmouth, in good numbers, continue to entertain our anglers. I did not receive a report on water temperatures today, but I would guess the early morning temperature to be in the mid-50's and the afternoon high in the upper 50's. Water from the dam remains at 500cfs and at Pineville 673cfs. Today begins our Summer hours which are from 6AM until 5 PM daily.

A nice day to wrap up our 'Spring Season', with conditions remaining fair and comfortable throughout the day offering plenty of overcast, very light winds and temperatures settling at about 60F. With a rather cool day, water temperatures only rose about 2 degrees, from 55 F to 57 F by mid day. Most of our anglers joined us first thing this morning, fishing into the early afternoon. Efforts were widespread across the property, but ultimately the middle section indicated the most success on smallmouth bass. The current dam release is scheduled to remain at 500 CFS until 11:59 PM tomorrow (5/13). Please monitor safewaters.com/facility/lighthouse-hill for updated dam release scheduling.

A mixture of weather offered some off and on sun, clouds, and a short burst of heavy rain. Overall conditions remained fair, with little impact from today's rain, as the runoff continues to lessen from the days past. Again, fairly light pressure with most anglers joining us first thing this morning, and fishing well into the afternoon. It didn't sound like the smallmouth fishing was on fire today, but most were successful in their outings. Forecasts for tomorrow indicate conditions to be mostly cloudy, with temperatures reaching about 60 F by late afternoon. At this time the dam release is currently scheduled to remain at 500 CFS until 11:59 PM tomorrow (5/12). Please monitor safewaters.com/facility/lighthouse-hill for updated dam release scheduling.

Angling pressure has continued to gradually lessen as we inch our way towards the summer. Some off and on showers, but overall conditions remained fair throughout most of the day. A few anglers joined us for brief outings early this afternoon with a couple of bass noted to hand, but no reports of steelhead. Forecasts indicate similar conditions expected for tomorrow, with light rain possible. The dam release was adjusted at 2:00 PM from 750 CFS to 500 CFS, where it is currently scheduled to remain until 11:59 PM tomorrow (5/11). Just a few hearty souls were on the run today. The cooler temperatures and overcast skies didn’t work in their favor. A few bass were landed, but there was a lot walking up and down the run for them. The water temperature got up to 61F, but as one season pass holder commented that the higher flow may be affecting the bite. Good news…the flow will be lowered to 500CFS starting at 2pm on the 10th until 1159pm on the 10th. The weather for tonight will be cloudy. Slight chance of a rain shower. Low around 50F. Winds NNE at 5 to 10 mph. Tomorrow’s weather will likely have some rain. High 57F. Winds will be light and variable. Chance of rain 70%.

Another spectacular weather day here on the run with cloudless skies, little wind, and temperatures around 70 degrees It looks like we have some rain in the forecast for the next several days, so it's enjoy it while we can. The anglers that shared this fine weather did not report any Steelhead, but smallmouth bass continue to occupy and entertain. Water will be staying at 750cfs from the dam through midnight tomorrow and the flow at Pineville is 867cfs.

Only a few anglers joined on what turned out to be a truly beautiful day. Early morning fog gave way to plenty of sunshine and comfortable temperatures into the mid-60's. Anglers reported getting into some smallmouth bass , but having to cover considerable time and water in to bring them to hand. No reports of any Steelhead being hooked today. Water temperature early this morning was 54 degrees rising to 58 by mid day. The water will be dropping to 500cfs at 9:00PM this evening and that should help the fishing tomorrow. The current flow at Pineville is 898cfs, but that, too, will be dropping.

Slightly cooler temperatures and a lack of sunshine seemed to put a bit of a damper on the fishing today. Most of our anglers joined us first thing this morning, and fished well through the day hoping for things to pick up, but activity remained consistently quiet throughout the day. Efforts were widespread across the property, with anglers covering just about top to bottom of the property. Ultimately the middle sections seemed to host the most activity. Despite forecasted rain, the dam release is currently scheduled to remain at 350 CFS until 11:59 PM tomorrow (5/5). It's hard to ask for a more comfortable day to be on the water, fishing. Temperatures started in the low 40's this morning, but ultimately reached mid 70's by mid day. While expectations of steelhead start to dwindle as we head into May, there's certainly a glimmer of hope for a few lingering, as we saw earlier this week. Most anglers reported a handful of bass today, a few 'whoppers', with just one report of an untamable steelhead that got away. Ultimately, it seemed most anglers were successful in their endeavors, particularly in the middle and upper sections of the property today. The dam release is currently scheduled to remain at 350 CFS until 11:59 PM tomorrow (5/4). Please monitor safewaters.com/facility/lighthouse-hill for updated dam release scheduling.

The water temperature was 52F at 6am and rose to 54F by 10am. The flow out of the Dam remains at 350CFS through midnight tomorrow night. One of our season pass holders stated that is was windy at the end of the run this morning. While others had real success at the upper end of the run, hooking and landing steelhead and smallmouth bass. And one angler landed 20 small mouth bass on spinners this morning. The clear skies and warmer temperatures seem to suit fishing today. The afternoon guests had just as much success as the morning anglers. One angler met his personal best by landing 15 smallmouth bass and a couple of steelhead. He fished the middle to upper parts of the run. The weather for tonight will have a few passing clouds. Low 46F. Winds light and variable, and for tomorrow sunshine and clouds mixed. High 74F. Winds SE at 5 to 10 mph.
