DSR Fishing Report for 01 May 2026:

REPORT:

Our angler density today would best be characterized as moderate and the angling success deemed slow.  Steelhead are still being caught, primarily from the middle to lower sections of the run; anglers who were specifically targeting smallmouth with spinning gear using small crankbaits did well.

WEATHER / CFS:

The current dam release is 350 CFS; it’s  scheduled to stay at that flow until 11:59 PM on 05/02/2026. The gauge at Pineville was at 531 CFS as of 6:00 PM.

Tonight: Showers early, then cloudy overnight. Low 37F. Winds light and variable. Chance of rain 50%.

Tomorrow: Cloudy skies early will become partly cloudy later in the day. High 47F. Winds W at 10 to 15 mph.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Season Pass Invitations were sent out 1 April 2026. Full payment or a deposit will be required by today, April 30,  2026. Balance payments for all categories of seasons passes will be due by June 26, 2026.

As part of an “After-Action-Review” of last season, and identifying “best-practices” moving forward, effective this year, our guests are required to check-in and are strongly requested to check-out as well. This will enhance our efforts to achieve accurate snapshots of our guest population on the run in order to more accurately manage angler density so as to not exceed angler limits. Check-out may be as simple as stating “Season Pass Holder (last name) leaving for the day!” or “Party of four under (last name) leaving for the day!”.
