DSR Fishing Report for 31 May 2026:

REPORT:

Fishing was ‘slow’ today and the angler density was ‘low’  Our lone angler, a season pass holder, fished from opening through midday landing (1) small brown and (1) smallmouth on the swing.  Water temperature was 53 degrees F at dawn, moving up to 58 by noon.

CFS / WEATHER:

The flow is currently listed as 350 CFS scheduled through 7:00am 06/01/’26; at that time, it will lower to 300 CFS until tomorrow evening at 7pm; at that time, it will be reduced again to 250 CFS currently scheduled through 11:59pm tomorrow evening.  The Pineville Gauge currently reads 459 CFS.

Tonight:  Cloudy skies early, followed by partial clearing. Slight chance of a rain shower. Low 43F. Winds light and variable.

Tomorrow:  Sunny skies. High around 70F. Winds N at 5 to 10 mph.

The winds and bright blue skies may have attributed to the run being quiet today with no anglers joining us.  

CFS / WEATHER:

The flow is currently listed as 350 CFS through 11:59pm on May 31^st.  The Pineville Gauge currently reads 470 CFS. Tonight:  Mostly clear. Low 42F. Winds W at 5 to 10 mph.   Tomorrow:  Partly cloudy skies in the morning will give way to cloudy skies during the afternoon. High 67F. Winds W at 5 to 10 mph.   Tomorrow Sunrise: 5:28 AM Tomorrow Sunset: 8:38 PM

REPORT:

We had a few guests join us on the run today that were swinging flies. One of the guests indicated landing one Smallmouth and a Fall Fish. Our other guest landed a few Steelhead and a couple of Smallmouth in the middle section of the run.  

CFS / WEATHER:

The flow is currently listed as 500 CFS through 11:59pm this evening.  The Pineville Gauge currently reads 637 CFS. Tonight:  Rain showers this evening with overcast skies overnight. Low 46F. Winds NNW at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 50%.   Tomorrow:  Cloudy early, becoming mostly sunny in the afternoon. Cooler. High near 65F. We had a pair of guests that targeted Fall Fish specifically, one guest in the am and another in the pm; they each brought several to hand.  No report on Steelhead or Smallmouth.

DSR Fishing Report for 26 May 2026:   REPORT: lamprey treatments to the Salmon River will commence soon.   CFS / WEATHER: The flow is 350 CFS through 9:00 PM tonight.  At that time another scheduled increase will push it up to 650 CFS through 11:59 PM tomorrow night.  The flow from the Pineville gauge is at 576 CFS. Tonight:  Partly cloudy skies this evening will become overcast overnight. Low 56F. Winds WSW at 5 to 10 mph.   Tomorrow:  Sunshine and clouds mixed. High 72F. REPORT:

Our angler density was low, and fishing activity was quiet.  One angler connected with two Smallmouth Bass swinging flies in the lower section.  A pair of anglers also connected with a few Smallmouth Bass while swinging flies in the lower section.

CFS / WEATHER:

The flow is 250 CFS through 9:00 PM tonight.  At that time another scheduled increase will push it up to 350 CFS through 11:59 PM tonight.  The flow from the Pineville gauge is at 382 CFS.

Tonight:  Mainly clear. Low 51F. Winds light and variable.

Tomorrow:  Intervals of clouds and sunshine. High around 80F. Winds SW at 5 to 10 mph.

REPORT:

Our angler density was low and fishing activity quiet today.  The pair of guests that I spoke with on the way out didn’t bring any smallmouth or steelhead to hand.

WEATHER / CFS:

The flow is scheduled to bump up tonight at midnight to 250 CFS through 9:00pm tomorrow evening.  At that time another increase scheduled will push it up 350 CFS through 11:59 Monday evening.  The flow from the Pineville gauge is at 351 CFS.

Tonight:  Periods of rain. Low 52F. Winds SE at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 100%. Rainfall near a half an inch. Locally heavy rainfall possible.

Tomorrow: Showers in the morning, then cloudy in the afternoon. High around 65F. Winds WSW at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 60%

REPORT:

Our angler density was low and fishing activity quiet with only a few fall fish brought to hand by a couple of guests.

Pictured  below is a group of our River Patrol that assisted DSR with planting Willows, Alders,  and Sycamores in the stream restoration areas of the Upper Clay and Meadow Run.

WEATHER / CFS:

At the time of this report the current dam release is 200 CFS, scheduled through 11:59 PM this evening.  The flow from the Pineville gauge is at 286 CFS.

Tonight:  Rain. Low 47F. Winds SE at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 90%. Rainfall around a half an inch. Locally heavy rainfall possible.

Tomorrow: Cloudy with occasional rain...mainly in the morning. High around 60F. Winds SE at 15 to 25 mph. Chance of rain 90%.

DSR Fishing Report for 22 May 2026:   REPORT:  fewer than a handful of anglers showed up today, fishing the morning only, however they all managed to connect with fish; specifically a 25” Steelhead in the lower section of the run, with a pair of anglers scoring a combined total of three Smallmouth Bass in the lower section of the run as well (all swung flies).   WEATHER / CFS: The current dam release is 200 CFS, scheduled through 11:59 PM tomorrow evening.  The flow from the Pineville gauge is at 286 CFS.
