REPORT: We had a couple of anglers on the run today; they were just shy of double-digits on Steelhead, drifting pink worms, and bead and egg sack combinations, under a bobber, in the upper portion of the run.
WEATHER / CFS:
The current dam release is 750 CFS through 11:59pm tomorrow evening. The Pineville Gauge is at 910 CFS.
Tonight: Scattered thunderstorms, some strong early, then cloudy skies after midnight. Storms may contain strong gusty winds. Low 42F. Winds WSW at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 90%.

Steelhead were sighted, and nibbling, but not taking. Fishing was ‘slow’ for Steelhead and ‘slow’ for Smallmouth Bass as well. DSR Fishing Report for 10 May 2026:

REPORT:
We had a low angler density with the majority of anglers fishing prior to the noon hour. The steelhead that were connected with were a combination of healed up, silvery torpedoes, mixed with some that were still on the mend from spawning; our guests brought them to hand with either beads, pink worms, or a swung fly. The smallmouth are around in solid numbers and were caught primarily with a mix of spinners, or crank baits. Fishing was ‘slow’ for steelhead and ‘moderate’ to ‘good for smallmouth.

REPORT:
We had a moderate number of guests that stretched out fishing the majority of the run today. Fishing was viewed as slow, with some steelhead being connected with and a few smallmouth, but neither in great numbers. We did have, for the first time this season, the sighting of a 4’ sturgeon in the lower portion.

The current dam release is scheduled to stay at 350 cfs through 11:59pm tomorrow evening. The Pineville Gauge is at 500 cfs.

REPORT:
We had a very similar day on the run today as yesterday. Our guest density was low, and fishing activity was slow. A few steelhead and smallmouth came to hand from different sections of the river using beads, egg patterns, crank baits, and spinners, but the numbers were low for both species.
WEATHER / CFS:
The current dam release is 350 cfs as of this morning at 7:00am. There isn’t an update listed at the time of this report beyond 11:59pm this evening. The flow from Pineville is currently 519 cfs.

Angling Success was slow today, as was the angler density. The few guests I had to a chance to speak with either didn’t get a grab, or brought 2-3 hand, (all steelhead, no reports of smallmouth at the time of this report.)WEATHER / CFS:
The current dam release is 750 cfs. Scheduled to bump down to 500 cfs at 3pm today.
Tomorrow, Friday, May 8th at 7am the flow is scheduled to drop to 350 cfs and remain there until 11:59pm tomorrow evening.

REPORT: Overall, angling success was described as slow today with a fair number of smallmouth bass making up the day’s catch. Of the anglers that I spoke with, none reported success on steelhead.

REPORT:
Our angler density was low today and angling success was also slow. There were a handful of steelhead caught by our guests, along with a few smallmouth, but overall numbers were down on both species over the past few days.

The last reliable report was from yesterday stating 750 cfs would remain through 11:59 this evening. REPORT:
The day started off cloudy through mid-morning then the sun came out. We once again had a moderate number of guests join us on the run primarily in the morning. The angling was slow today, at least for steelhead with some anglers with no takes, and just 1 0r 2 hookups for the remainder. The majority of anglers I spoke with / or saw on the river this morning were targeting steelhead and not smallmouth.

The current dam release is 350 CFS; it’s scheduled to bump up to 750 CFS as of 9:00pm this evening and remain there until 11:59pm tomorrow evening. The gauge at Pineville was at 488 CFS as of 6:00 PM.

DSR Fishing Report for 03 May 2026:
REPORT:
A mostly sunny day with increasing afternoon clouds accompanied our guests on the run today. We had a low to moderate number of anglers join us today; guests that specifically targeted steelhead had a slow to moderate day with most anglers hooking a fish or two using beads, streamers, or worms. For those who targeted smallmouth, the fishing was good to excellent in most portions of the run, with the middle to lower sections hooking up most frequently. Swim baits, small crank baits, squirmy worms, and night crawlers were the main baits used.

REPORT:
We had a very similar day here on the run today to the last few days. We had a moderate amount of guests join us, and the fishing was moderate to good. Steelhead were brought to hand from the upper to the lower stretches using everything from beads and egg sacs, to spinners, wool buggers, squirmy worms, and night crawlers. Even some of the smallmouth caught today were enticed by all of the above offerings.

Our angler density today would best be characterized as moderate and the angling success deemed slow. Steelhead are still being caught, primarily from the middle to lower sections of the run; anglers who were specifically targeting smallmouth with spinning gear using small crankbaits did well.
