Today's Report

August 24, 2026

DSR Fishing Report for 24 August 2026:
REPORT: an even dozen guests joined us on the run today, roughly divided into a “morning shift” and an “afternoon shift”. Nearly all of the morning guests sighted salmon moving upriver, with one hooking up but getting broken off, and another (see picture of angler with mottled grey shirt) bringing to hand what appears to be a chunky Chinook (King) salmon hen. The afternoon guests saw significantly less fish moving upriver, however our own Operations Supervisor, Niko, fished for a few hours after his shift was over, and brought to hand another fat King hen.  Marty (with floppy hat) came through again, topping his "first of the season" salmon with yet another one today. The cooling weather, coupled with recent as well as forecasted rains, should both bode well for increased numbers of fish in the coming days.
CFS / WEATHER:
The flow from the dam is currently at 185 CFS and is scheduled to remain at that level until 11:59 PM on Tuesday, the 25th. The Pineville gauge is currently at 236 CFS.
Tonight: Rain early...then remaining cloudy with showers overnight. Low 59F. Winds SW at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 100%. Rainfall around a quarter of an inch.
Tomorrow: Showers in the morning with some clearing in the afternoon. High 71F. Winds WNW at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 50%.
Tomorrow Sunrise: 6:20 AM
Tomorrow Sunset: 7:55 PM
