DSR Fishing Report for 28 February 2026:

 

REPORT:

Some sunshine and temperatures into the mid 40’s brought out the anglers. Angler density was moderate to high in some areas, mostly the middle of the run. The anglers that were throwing flies had moderate to good success with using light colored flies, white and yellow were particularly productive. Anglers that were center pinning had slow success. Several season pass holders commented that even though the flow was 750CFS, the river seemed lower.

The current dam release is scheduled to stay at 750cfs until 11:59pm on 03/01/2026. The gauge at Pineville has been malfunctioning as we’re still not receiving a flow report from that gauge. DSR Fishing Report for 27 February 2026:

REPORT:

Angler density was moderate today and the success was slow to moderate. Steelhead were the primary species brought to hand again today, but several browns have been caught, especially in the middle section of the river.

WEATHER / CFS:

The current dam release is scheduled to stay at 750cfs until 11:59pm on 02/28/2026. The gauge at Pineville has been malfunctioning as we’re still not receiving a flow report from that gauge.

Tonight: Partly cloudy this evening, then becoming cloudy after midnight. Low 34F. Winds SSE at 10 to 20 mph.

Tomorrow: Rain showers early with some sunshine later in the day. High 41F. Winds W at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 40%.

DSR Fishing Report for 26 February 2026:

REPORT:

  Angler density was low and the success was slow. Steelhead seemed to be the primary species hooked and landed with one Brown trout being reported as well.  

WEATHER / CFS:

  The current dam release is at 750cfs until 11:59pm on 02/27/2026. The gauge at Pineville has been malfunctioning as we’re still not receiving a flow report from that gauge. Tonight: Mostly cloudy skies this evening will become partly cloudy after midnight. Low 14F. Winds ESE at 5 to 10 mph.   Tomorrow: A mix of clouds and sun in the morning followed by cloudy skies during the afternoon. A few flurries are possible. High 39F. REPORT:

  Angler density was low and the success was slow to moderate. The majority of our guests that fished today indicated hooking and landing a few Steelhead.

  The current dam release is at 750cfs until 11:59pm on 02/26/2026. The gauge at Pineville has been malfunctioning as we’re still not receiving a flow report from that gauge. REPORT:

Angler density was low and the success was quiet. The blowing snow and temperatures staying in the teens may have attributed to the quiet day.

  The current dam release is at 300 cfs currently scheduled through 7pm when the flow will be increased to 750cfs until 11:59pm on 02/25/2026. The gauge at Pineville has been malfunctioning as we’re still not receiving a flow report from that gauge. Tonight:  Cloudy. Snow likely late. Low 13F. Winds SE at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of snow 90%. DSR Fishing Report for 23 February 2026: REPORT:

Today’s angler density was moderate, angling success was excellent, with Steelhead and a good number of Brown Trout being landed. Anglers were primarily concentrated in the middle of the run, with a few anglers fishing towards the upper end. Blue egg sacks produced best, followed by pink worms a distant second. WEATHER / CFS: The current dam release is at 300 CFS, where it is scheduled to remain through 11:59 PM 02/24/’26. The gauge at Pineville has been malfunctioning (ice) as we’re still not receiving a flow report from that gauge. Tonight's forecast: Cloudy skies this evening. A few snow showers developing late. REPORT:

Today’s angler density and angling success were both moderate with Steelhead and Brown Trout being landed. Anglers were primarily located in the middle of the run, with a few anglers walking towards the upper end.

DSR Fishing Report for 21 February 2026:

REPORT:

We had just under a dozen anglers join us on the run today. Fishing was reported as slow throughout the run.  The run did clear up surprisingly well from yesterday’s rain but didn’t seem to improve the fishing.  Our anglers landed a handful of steelhead, and very similar to yesterday, an equal number of browns.

WEATHER / CFS:

The current dam release is at 300 cfs currently scheduled through 11:59pm 02/23/’26. The gauge at Pineville has been malfunctioning as we’re still not receiving a flow report from that gauge.

DSR Fishing Report for 20 February 2026:

We had a handful of anglers join us on the run today. Fishing was reported as slow throughout the run.  The middle and upper portions of the run were the areas that were fished today as we still have ice locking up the lower portion.  We did have almost an equal number of browns brought to hand as well as steelhead.  The rain did create some turbidity as the afternoon wore on.

  We had nine anglers join us on the run today. Fishing was reported as slow to moderate throughout the run. Steelhead seemed to me the main species caught, with that being said, a few Brown trout were landed as well.

REPORT:

  We had two anglers join us on the run today. One guest stated that he hooked a few fish in the hour or so he spent on the run. The other guest stated that he hooked and landed double digits.

DSR Fishing Report for 16 February 2026:

REPORT:

We had about a dozen anglers join us on the run today. Some guests said they did not hook a fish and others said they were able to land “a few”. It seems that some of the shelf ice is starting to break up with this stretch of warmer weather. One guest stated that it is getting very dangerous to walk out on the shelf ice.

DSR Fishing Report for 15 February 2026:

REPORT:

We had about a dozen anglers join us on the run today, taking advantage of the almost ‘balmy’ feeling temperature compared to what we’ve had the past (3) weeks.  The fishing was listed as slow, with only a portion of the anglers coming off the water reporting any hook ups.  Anglers that were here early before the sun got high in the sky seemed to fare the best, using either egg sacs, beads, or artificial egg sacs, although one angler did pick up a nice brown in the middle section using a white wooly bugger with a bright pink bead.

REPORT: We had a handful of anglers join us late morning through early afternoon on the run.  Fishing was overall good with all but one angler I spoke with connecting with steelhead in the upper section.  A bonus brown was also brought to hand in the middle section.  Egg Sacs and beads of various colors were uses by all anglers I spoke with.   WEATHER:   Tonight: Cloudy skies.
