DSR Fishing Report for 29 June 2026:   REPORT: A season pass holder joined us on the run during the morning hours.  He swung flies at the bottom of the run and was rewarded with a brace of chunky Smallmouth Bass for his efforts.   NOTE: The DSR will be closed to fishing, and Guest Services will not be available for any administrative matters, from 2 July through 5 July in order to put in an asphalt apron at the entrance to the Welcome Center parking lot.   CFS / WEATHER: The flow from the dam bumped up to 250 CFS just past midnight and will remain at that level until 11:59 PM this evening.  The Pineville gauge is currently at 228 CFS. REPORT:

We had a pair of Season Pass holders join us on the run during the am hours.  They swung flies from the top of the run to the bottom, and each landed a smallmouth for their efforts.

The flow from the dam is currently at 200 CFS and will remain at that level until 11:59 PM this evening. At that time, it will bump up to 250 CFS through 11:59pm Monday evening. The Pineville gauge is currently at 232 CFS.

REPORT:

The water temperature this morning was 63F and up to 66F by early afternoon. The angler density was low today and angling success was slow. There were sightings of eagles, ospreys and a red fox was also seen. Several Smallmouth Bass were landed along with a couple of Steelhead Fry.

We had just under ½ dozen anglers join us on this breezy day.  One of our Season Pass Holders connected with (1) nice smallmouth in the lower portion; the other guests I had a chance to speak with went without any grabs.

The flow from the dam is currently 185 CFS which is scheduled through 06/19/26 at 10:00pm; at that time the flow will bump up to 400 CFS currently scheduled to remain there until 6:00pm on the 21^st; from 6:00pm on the 21^st it’s scheduled to reduce to 200 CFS through 11:59pm Sunday evening.  The gauge at Pineville is currently at 264 CFS

Angler density was low with just a handful of anglers joining us on the run today. We received a report from two of the anglers using spey setups. They managed to land three Smallmouth bass fishing the middle and lower sections of the run.

One of our guests landed several Smallmouth, a few Fallfish were also landed by a couple of anglers. The temperature made it up to 80F this afternoon, a bit muggy on the run, afternoon fishing was very slow.

DSR Fishing Report for 05 June 2026:

REPORT:

A handful of anglers joined us today on the run, primarily during the morning hours.  Smallmouth were the targeted species and several 13-15” came to hand using a variety of swung flies.

CFS / WEATHER:

The flow from the dam is currently 185 CFS which is scheduled through 11:59pm this evening.  The Pineville Gauge currently reads 264 CFS.

Tonight:  Partly cloudy skies this evening will give way to occasional showers overnight. Low 63F. Winds light and variable. Chance of rain 70%.

Tomorrow:  Rain showers in the morning with thunderstorms developing in the afternoon. Gusty winds and small hail are possible. High 73F. Winds SW at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 70%.

DSR Fishing Report for 04 June 2026:

REPORT:

We had a handful, (‘low’), of anglers join us on the run today with a pair fishing the am and a separate pair fishing the afternoon.  Fishing was listed as ‘quiet’ with only a handful of smallmouth brought to hand primarily in the lower sections, along with several fall fish caught by those anglers targeting them directly.

CFS / WEATHER:

The flow from the dam is currently 185 CFS which is scheduled through 11:59pm this evening.  The Pineville Gauge currently reads 264 CFS.

Tonight:  Some clouds. Low 53F. Winds light and variable.

Tomorrow:  Partly cloudy skies. High near 85F. Winds WSW at 5 to 10 mph.

REPORT:

We had a few anglers fish the run today with moderate angling success. They fished from the upper section of the run to the lower section and landed a handful of Smallmouth Bass.  

CFS / WEATHER:

The flow from the dam is currently 185 CFS which is scheduled through 11:59pm this evening.  The Pineville Gauge currently reads 295 CFS. Tonight:  Generally clear. Low 48F. Winds light and variable.   Tomorrow:  Partly cloudy. High 79F. Winds WSW at 5 to 10 mph.   Tomorrow Sunrise: 5:27 AM Tomorrow Sunset: 8:39 PM

REPORT:

We had one angler on the run today that reported good fishing for Smallmouth Bass. He landed double digits in just a few hours of fishing the upper section of the run (Randy is pictured below with one of his nice Smallmouth).  

CFS / WEATHER:

The flow from the dam is currently 185 CFS which is scheduled through 11:59pm this evening.  The Pineville Gauge currently reads 299 CFS. Tonight:  Partly cloudy. Low around 45F. Winds light and variable.   Tomorrow:  Mostly sunny skies. Slight chance of a rain shower. High near 75F. Winds W at 5 to 10 mph.   Tomorrow Sunrise: 5:27 AM Tomorrow Sunset: 8:40 PM

This will enhance angler safety and our efforts to more accurately manage angler density on the run so as to not exceed angler limits. Check-out may be as simple as stating “Season Pass Holder (last name) leaving for the day!” or calling the Welcome Center to share “Party of four under (last name) leaving for the day!”.

REPORT:

We had three anglers on the run today which indicated that fishing was very slow. One of the anglers landed a Smallmouth, that was the only fish they hooked all morning.  

CFS / WEATHER:

The flow from the dam is currently 250 CFS which is scheduled through 11:59pm this evening.  The Pineville Gauge currently reads 403 CFS. Tonight:  Clear skies. Low 43F. Winds ENE at 5 to 10 mph.   Tomorrow:  Generally sunny despite a few afternoon clouds. Slight chance of a rain shower. High around 70F. Winds W at 5 to 10 mph.   Tomorrow Sunrise: 5:27 AM Tomorrow Sunset: 8:39 PM
