DSR Fishing Report for 17 August 2026:   REPORT:  A report was received early this morning, from a season passholder, regarding the sighting of two large (unidentified) fish splashing and working their way upriver through the middle section of the run; he left the run mid-morning and returned in the late afternoon to try again (he subsequently reported no more sightings or success).  Two other guests did not report any significant activity, although one of the pair was able to bring four Smallmouth Bass to hand, one of which was a chunky, approximately 16”, bass.  Our last guest did not get out on the run until after 7 PM, in his annual pursuit to be the first to bring a salmon to hand within the DSR run; as of the time of this report, the guest has not called in any status.   CFS / WEATHER: The flow from the dam is 185 CFS and is scheduled to remain at that level until 11:59 PM Monday evening, August 17^th.^.  The Pineville gauge is currently at 236 CFS   Tonight:  Some clouds. Low 58F. Winds NE at 5 to 10 mph.   Tomorrow:  Sun and a few passing clouds. High 78F. Plan ahead, especially for the State Route 13 closure ... alternates route to access the DSR during the State Route 13 railroad crossing closure would be: coming from the North on I 81, towards Pulaski, take exit 126 (old exit 36) for Pulaski – coming off the exit, turn right onto Maple Avenue, turn left at the “T” onto State Route 11 (N. Jefferson), then the next right onto County Route 5 (Lake Street) to the DSR; coming from the South on I 81, towards Pulaski, take exit 125 (old exit 36) for Pulaski – coming off the exit, take a right onto State Route 13, take the next left (about a mile down) onto 2A, take a left onto Maple Avenue at the I 81 intersection, , turn left at the “T” onto State Route 11 (N. Jefferson), then the next right onto County Route 5 (Lake Street) to the DSR.
