DSR Fishing Report for 02 May 2026:

REPORT:

We had a very similar day here on the run today to the last few days.  We had a moderate amount of guests join us, and the fishing was moderate to good.  Steelhead were brought to hand from the upper to the lower stretches using everything from beads and egg sacs, to spinners, wool buggers, squirmy worms, and night crawlers.  Even some of the smallmouth caught today were enticed by all of the above offerings.

WEATHER / CFS:

The current dam release is 350 CFS; it’s  scheduled to stay at that flow until 11:59 PM on 05/03/2026. The gauge at Pineville was at 531 CFS as of 6:00 PM.

Tonight: Some clouds. Widespread frost likely. Low near 35F. Winds WNW at 5 to 10 mph.

Tomorrow: Generally sunny despite a few afternoon clouds. High 54F. Winds WNW at 10 to 15 mph

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Season Pass Invitations were sent out 1 April 2026. Full payment or a deposit will be required by today, April 30,  2026. Balance payments for all categories of seasons passes will be due by June 26, 2026.

As part of an “After-Action-Review” of last season, and identifying “best-practices” moving forward, effective this year, our guests are required to check-in and are strongly requested to check-out as well. This will enhance our efforts to achieve accurate snapshots of our guest population on the run in order to more accurately manage angler density so as to not exceed angler limits. Check-out may be as simple as stating “Season Pass Holder (last name) leaving for the day!” or “Party of four under (last name) leaving for the day!”.
