DSR Fishing Report for 30 April 2026:  

REPORT:

The angler density was moderate today with slow to moderate angling success. Most anglers today used either spinning or fly tackle, and a variety of flies, egg sacks, beads, spinners and crankbaits were all used successfully.  The predominant species brought to hand today were both Steelhead and Smallmouth Bass. A good number of anglers stayed in the middle section of the run, while others decided to walk the entire run, both groups had mixed success. The water temperature was 52F and water clarity was good.  

WEATHER / CFS:

The current dam release is 350 CFS; it’s  scheduled to stay at that flow until 11:59 PM on 05/01/2026. The gauge at Pineville was at 570 CFS as of 4:30 PM. Tonight: Mostly cloudy skies early, then partly cloudy after midnight. Low 36F. Winds WNW at 5 to 10 mph. Tomorrow: A mix of clouds and sun early, then becoming cloudy later in the day. Slight chance of a rain shower. High 53F. Winds WNW at 5 to 10 mph.   Tomorrow Sunrise: 5:59 AM Tomorrow Sunset: 8:05 PM  

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Season Pass Invitations were sent out 1 April 2026. Full payment or a deposit will be required by today, April 30,  2026. Balance payments for all categories of seasons passes will be due by June 26, 2026.   As part of an “After-Action-Review” of last season, and identifying “best-practices” moving forward, effective this year, our guests are required to check-in, and are strongly requested to check-out as well, when they are leaving for the day, for these reasons:  so that we are aware of who remain on the run, for safety and accountability reasons; to enhance our efforts to achieve accurate snapshots of our guest population on the run in order to more accurately manage angler density so as to not exceed angler limits; facilitate strictly controlled sales of full-day or afternoon-only fishing access passes in order to ensure we do not exceed angler limits.  Check-out may be as simple as stating “Season Pass Holder (last name) leaving for the day!” or “Party of four under (last name) leaving for the day!”.
