536 CFS Pineville Gauge
350 CFS Dam Release

April 11, 2024

CFS at the dam 295 (until midnight tomorrow), CFS at the Pineville gauge started at 430 and ended at 442 - water was initially a bit stained, clearing in the late morning - air temperatures ranged from the mid 50s to mid 60s - overcast skies, with light sprinkling primarily in the morning - winds were generally moderate, with a few gusts. With a couple of exceptions, our guests were able to get into at least a few Steelhead each, in the typical 6# to 10# range, although a guest reported a much larger one straightening his hook out. Beads under bobbers, a baby blue jig with a white body and tail under a bobber, and a swung egg-sucking leech pattern all accounted for Steelhead, while a small floating minnow lure was very effective for those guests who mainly targeted Smallmouth Bass today. Tonight's forecast: "A steady rain this evening. Showers continuing overnight. Low 58F. Winds SE at 15 to 25 mph. Chance of rain 100%. Rainfall near a quarter of an inch. Winds could occasionally gust over 40 mph.". Tomorrow's forecast: "Rain early...then remaining cloudy with showers in the afternoon. Thunder possible. High 63F. Winds SSW at 15 to 25 mph. Chance of rain 90%.".
