9 AM River Patrol fishing report: CFS at the dam 350, CFS at the Pineville gauge 436, opening air temperature 60 degrees, water temperature 62 degrees, currently hazy blue skies, bright sunshine, dead calm - our forecasted high will be 84 degrees . . . the estuary section reported what appeared to be primarily Chinook ("Kings") salmon milling around in both the center and North channels, however there were no guests fishing in the immediate area - just upriver, Kings were holding in pools, providing for "slow" action (hookups few and far between) for our guests - the lower section reported "slow" action at the bottom of that section, then "moderate" action (hooking up, but could be better) further up into that section, for our guests - the predominate fish in this section are Kings, with a solitary Steelhead and Brown Trout making an appearance in what was brought to hand - most of the Kings are moving through this section and on up into the run, with a smaller percentage choosing to hole up - a season pass holder had come off the run and stated that there appeared to be as many fish present as yesterday, but they were not as aggressive as they had been yesterday - he reported that many of the fish were exhibiting spawning behavior - the middle section reported "slow" action for our guests, with fish both moving through as well as holding in pools, Kings at the bottom of this section, with Kings and Cohos showing up at the top of this section - the top section reported "good" (hooking up steadily) to moderate action, with Kings and Cohos moving further up into the river, as well as a solitary Steelhead in the mix
