October 29, 2022

River Patrol 9 AM and 4 PM fishing reports: CFS 335 at the dam, CFS 425 at the Pineville gauge - water temperature this morning was 48 degrees - air temperature started out low 30s this morning, current air temperature 59 degrees - an hazy sky this morning cleared up, with the occasional cloud moving across during the day, bright sunshine - light winds all day made for an idyllic Fall day - this morning the lower section was reported as "slow", with only a few Steelhead present there - further upriver, Steelhead action picked up, with some fresh Kings in the mix, as well as a solitary Brown Trout - as we moved on into the upper section, Steelhead action incrementally picked up to make for a relatively good morning of fishing - typically, we encountered our sunny morning mid-day slump, but those who worked at it managed to still produce some Steelhead, some with numbers just shy of double-digits - as the day progressed into early evening, the report throughout the run was "slow, just enough fish to maintain interest" - there was a note that a few fish were moving up into the river from both the North and center channels - the overnight low will be 36 degrees - forecast for tomorrow is: Sunshine and clouds mixed. High 62F. Winds SE at 5 to 10 mph.
