Yesterday's Report

October 16, 2025

16 OCT '25: The Manor House guests' reserved areas (the South channel below the Glide and The Upper Clay) are CLOSED to all guests until further notice; any updates will be published immediately through here, our website fishing reports, through Guest Services at the Welcome Center, and through the River Patrol assigned to the two specific reserved areas. Appropriate signage has also been posted at the boundaries of these two areas, to indicate whether or not the areas are accessible. As of 10 AM we have an ample number of full day fishing passes for immediate sale ($95 each); by extension, we will have ample afternoon-only fishing passes to sell, starting at 1 PM today ($55 each). It should be noted that individuals have been able to now purchase daily access fishing passes online, for the next day; the amount of available passes online will vary day-by-day, but try that option before you attempt a walk-up pass. The flow from the dam is scheduled to remain at 185 CFS until 10/16/2025 11:59 PM. The CFS at the Pineville gauge is currently 198. 10:15 AM report: current conditions are: hazy blue skies and bright sunshine, 47 degrees (high of 55 degrees forecasted), light winds, chilly, dry. Water temperature is 52 degrees. NOTE: as our temperatures edge closer to freezing, through actual thermometer reading, or wind chill, please ensure that you do not remove fish wholly from the water, if at all possible, as that has the very real potential to damage their gills. The estuary section reported moderate guest density, moderate fishing activity, with Chinook (King) and Steelhead, moving upriver. The lower section reported moderate guest density in the lower part, low guest density in the upper part, experiencing slow fishing activity in the lower part and moderate fishing activity in the upper part, with a mix of Kings and Steelhead throughout, that are moving upriver as well as holding in pools throughout. A lot of the fish that are holding are engaging in spawning activity; please do not fish for spawners! The middle section reported low guest density in the lower part, moderate guest density in the upper part; experiencing moderate fishing activity throughout, with a mix of Kings and Steelhead throughout, with these fish moving upriver as well as holding in pools in the lower part, and moving upriver in the upper part. The upper section reported high guest density in the lower part, low guest density in the upper part, with moderate fishing activity in the lower part, and slow fishing activity in the upper part, on Kings and Steelhead in the lower part, and Kings only in the upper part, that are moving holding in the lower part, and moving upriver as well as holding in pools in the upper part. The top section reported no guests present, moderate fish activity (public side), with a mix of Kings and Steelhead, that are moving upriver as well as holding in pools. The forecast for tonight is: "Clear to partly cloudy. Low 32F. Winds NNE at 5 to 10 mph". The forecast for tomorrow is: "Partly cloudy skies. High near 55F. Winds NNW at 5 to 10 mph".
