25 Sep '25: we have approximately 15 full day passes available for immediate sale; we will have ample afternoon-only passes for sale (sales begin at 1 PM, $65 per person). The two Manor House guests' reserved areas (the South channel below the Glide, and a portion of the Upper Clay) are in effect, for the full day, today, until further notice; any updates will be published immediately through here, our website fishing reports, through Guest Services at the Welcome Center, and through the River Patrol assigned to the two specific reserved areas. Appropriate signage has also been posted at the boundaries of these two areas, to indicate whether or not the areas are accessible. The flow from the dam is scheduled to remain at 185 CFS until 09/25/2025 11:59 PM. The CFS at the Pineville gauge is currently 20. Current conditions are: overcast skies, 66 degrees (high of 71 degrees forecasted), dead calm, wet from early morning rains, not currently raining. Water temperature is 66 degrees. The estuary section reported low guest density, experiencing moderate fishing activity, with Chinook (King) and Coho salmon, which were moving upriver but are mostly holding in pools after sunrise. The lower section reported high guest density in the lower part, and moderate guest density in the upper part, experiencing slow fishing activity in the lower part, and moderate fishing activity in the upper part, with primarily Kings, that are both moving upriver and holding within pools. The middle section reported moderate guest density throughout; moderate fishing activity throughout, a mix of Kings and Cohos ("a LOT of fish!"), both moving upriver and holding in pools. The upper section reported moderate guest density throughout, with moderate fishing activity throughout, with a mix of Kings and Cohos, that are moving upriver as well as holding in pools. The top section reported no guests, with unidentified fish holding within pools. The forecast for tonight is: "Cloudy this evening with showers after midnight. Low 61F. Winds light and variable. WALK-UP PASS PROCEDURES: due to our current online "sold-out" status, for at least the next several weeks, we have implemented our walk-up daily access fishing pass procedures, for both full-day and afternoon-only passes; here is the link to our walk-up pass procedures: https://douglastonsalmonrun.com/walkup/ River Patrol fishing reports (these reports are a subjective, generalized, evaluation of fishing conditions within large, yet specific, areas of the run, compiled through personal observations of the River Patrol assigned to these areas, as well as those of our surveyed guests angling within these areas, over a span of several hours, and may differ from your personal observations). NOTE: we train our River Patrol to report uniformly, to the following criteria regarding guest density within the particular section of the river run which they patrol: "Low" = few anglers - plenty of space"; "Moderate" = some anglers - some space left"; "High" = crowded - at capacity (with a) rod length in-between (one rod length minimum distance between anglers is defined as with the rod butt on the hip, extended to the side)". Even these descriptions are relative, as at our capacity of 250 guests, we still have 2.5 miles of river, both sides of the river generally accessible, wherein our guests may fish. These same descriptions may not apply to other areas of the river outside of the DSR, where elbow to elbow is frequently the norm. NOTE: Angling success or activity is reported to these standards: "Quiet" = no action, no fish being caught or seen; "Slow" = guests hooking fish, but few and far between; "Moderate" = guests are hooking fish, but could be better"; "Good" = guests are hooking fish steadily; "Excellent" = guests can't keep the fish off the line.
