River Patrol 4:45pm fishing report (this report is a subjective, generalized, evaluation of fishing conditions within large, yet specific, areas of the run, compiled through personal observations of the River Patrol assigned to these areas, as well as those of our guests angling within these areas, over a span of several hours, and may differ from your personal observations): The estuary section reported only one angler present. River patrol reported a "few good pods" of Chinook (King) salmon holding within, as well as moving upriver, through the North channel. One small Brown Trout was brought to hand in this section. The lower section reported a low volume of anglers and slow angling success with Kings and Cohos, primarily holding in some of the deeper pools. The middle section reported low guest density, quiet fishing activity, with a mix of Kings, Cohos (upper part of this section), all holding within this section. The upper section reported low guest density, quiet angling activity, with Cohos (uncharacteristically) holding within this section. The top section reported no anglers present and no observed fish activity. Overall, the afternoon forecast has been a repeat of the past several days; when the sun gets high in the sky the fish are primarily holding in pools. Activity seems to pick up the last 90 minutes of the day. I’ll update the report if things pick up the last few hours of daylight The forecast for tonight is: Clear to partly cloudy. Low 50. Winds light and variable from the NW. The forecast for tomorrow is: "Partly cloudy. High 74F. Winds NNW at 5 to 10 mph".
