1490 CFS Pineville Gauge
1200 CFS Dam Release

January 15, 2026

DSR Fishing Report for 15 January 2026 The current dam release is 1200 CFS scheduled until 01/16/26 9:00pm; from 9:00pm tomorrow evening the flow is scheduled to be reduced to 750 cfs until 11:59 on 01/16/26. The Pineville gauge is currently 1610 CFS as of 4:30pm. The water temperature was not available this morning. REPORT: A handful of anglers join us on the run today from late morning through early afternoon, fishing from the top sections through the lower sections.  Angling success was listed as slow to moderate with most of the holes holding a fish or two, but they were all worked for.  Centerpinning with egg sacs was the technique used by the anglers I had a chance to speak with coming off the water.  The steelhead were still a mix of fairly fresh chrome along with some fairly dark fish; no browns were taken to hand today. WEATHER: The forecast for tonight: ***Winter Storm Warning remains in Effect until 1pm 1/16/2026*** Snow this evening will taper off and give way to cloudy skies late. Low 9F. Winds WNW at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of snow 70%. 1 to 3 inches of snow expected.   The forecast for tomorrow:  Partly cloudy skies in the morning will give way to cloudy skies during the afternoon. A few flurries or snow showers possible. High 23F. NW winds shifting to SSE at 10 to 15 mph.  Due to the low overnight temperatures slush ice on the run is likely for the first few hours of daylight tomorrow.   Sunrise:  7:35am          Sunset:  4:55pm   NOTE: due to the potential for lake effect snow, and other forms of inclement weather conditions during the winter season, please monitor the weather site forecasts (use national, area-wide, and local sites) for Pulaski, NY (zip code 13142) before getting on the road; remember that lake effect snow typically occurs in relatively narrow bands, and that immediately adjacent areas may be clear of snow, therefore look at the forecast for the general area as well when planning your travel.   ANNOUNCEMENTS: Daily Access Fishing Pass Availability and pass price guide: https://douglastonsalmonrun.com/fishing/ LINK to Purchasing Instructions & FAQ: https://mailchi.mp/douglastonsalmonrun/2026passrelease 2026 DAILY ACCESS FISHING PASS RELEASE DATES - 1 January through 27 August 2026 fishing passes are currently available - 28 August – 30 September 2026 fishing passes released for sale Monday 19 Jan 2026 - enter queue at 5:30 PM, sales begin at 6 PM - October fishing passes released for sale Wednesday 21 January 2026 - enter queue at 5:30 PM, sales begin at 6 PM - Premium Access Passes (11 Sep – 29 October) released Friday 23 January 2026 - enter queue at 5:30 PM, sales begin at 6 PM (only Premium Access will be sold on the 23rd) Season Pass Renewals will begin March 1st, 2026.
