Today's Report

November 30, 2025

30 Nov 2025 full-day DSR fishing report.
Today's forecast: "Snow this morning will give way to a mixture of rain and snow this afternoon. High 38F. Winds SSE at 15 to 25 mph. Chance of precip 80%. Snow accumulating 1 to 3 inches. Higher wind gusts possible.".
The current dam release is 750 CFS, where it is projected to remain until 12/01/25 at 11:59 PM. The CFS at the Pineville gauge is currently at 1020 as of 6:15 AM. A water temperature was not available today.
Our guests spread out to all sections of the run today, however a fair percentage concentrated within the middle section. All sections fished relatively equally well today. Without exception, all the guests I spoke to indicated they were able to at least bring one fish to hand today; almost half of our guests fell into the category of bringing one to three fish to hand. The remainder of our guests reported amazing numbers of high to double-digit hookups, with fish brought to hand within this latter group ranging from a low of five to a high of thirteen brought to hand. Steelhead were the predominate species, with a fair percentage of these in the 8 - 11 # category, and a few of the remainder truly large in size; nearly all were bright chrome. There were a total of eight Brown Trout in the 16" - 22” category brought to hand as well. There was even one slightly tattered, but "fresh", Chinook (King) Salmon. It was reported that the early morning fished the very best, but the fish remained eager to do battle all day.
Successful Baits & Techniques - each of these produced well, in this order: hands-down blue egg sacks drifted under a bobber seemed to account for the majority of the fish today. Close behind were beads in the 10mm to 14mm size drifted under a bobber (chartreuse, peach, tangerine colors were most productive today); then swinging a dark olive stonefly with brass bead head, or a 5" Intruder with white and red in the body.
Featured today (see below) is Brian with a nice Steelhead, as well as his Brown Trout (which was representative of those brought to hand today).

The forecast for tonight is: "Cloudy with snow showers mainly during the evening. Low near 25F. Winds W at 15 to 25 mph. Chance of snow 80%. Snow accumulations less than one inch. Higher wind gusts possible.".
The forecast for tomorrow is: "Cloudy skies early will become partly cloudy later in the day. High 28F. Winds WNW at 10 to 15 mph.".
NOTE: due to the potential for lake effect snow, and other forms of inclement weather conditions during the winter season, please monitor the weather site for Pulaski, NY (zip code 13142) forecasts before getting on the road; remember that lake effect snow typically occurs in relatively narrow bands, and that immediately adjacent areas may be clear of snow, therefore look at the forecast for the general area as well when planning your travel.
