07 Oct '25: the two Manor House guests' reserved areas (the South channel below the Glide, and a portion of the Upper Clay) will be open, for the full day, tomorrow, Wednesday, October 8^th, 2025, until further notice; any updates will be published immediately through here, our website fishing reports, through Guest Services at the Welcome Center, and through the River Patrol assigned to the two specific reserved areas. Appropriate signage has also been posted at the boundaries of these two areas, to indicate whether the areas are accessible.   There are three lodges available on the 16th of October: Mud Creek, Salmon Run Lodge and Deer Run. The lodges are for one night only and have a minimum occupancy rate of 3 guests for Mud Creek and Deer Run and for Salmon Run 5 guests. The lodges can be booked online.   WALK-UP PASS PROCEDURES: due to our current online "sold-out" status, for at least the next several weeks, we have implemented our walk-up daily access fishing pass procedures, for both full-day and afternoon-only passes; here is the link to our walk-up pass procedures: https://douglastonsalmonrun.com/walkup/   The flow from the dam is scheduled to remain at 185 CFS until 10/08/25 11:59 PM. The CFS at the Pineville gauge is currently 195. Water temperature mid-afternoon was 65F.   River Patrol 4:45pm, fishing report (this report is a subjective, generalized, evaluation of fishing conditions within large, yet specific, areas of the run, compiled through personal observations of the River Patrol assigned to these areas, as well as those of our surveyed guests angling within these areas, over a span of several hours, and may differ from your personal observations). NOTE: we train our River Patrol to report uniformly, to the following criteria regarding guest density within the particular section of the river run which they patrol: "Low" = few anglers - plenty of space"; "Moderate" = some anglers - some space left"; "High" = crowded - at capacity (with a) rod length in-between (one rod length minimum distance between anglers is defined as with the rod butt on the hip, extended to the side)". Even these descriptions are relative, as at our capacity of 250 guests, we still have 2.5 miles of river, both sides of the river generally accessible, wherein our guests may fish. These same descriptions may not apply to other areas of the river outside of the DSR, where elbow to elbow is sometimes the norm.   The estuary section reported low density of anglers with quiet angling success, some King Salmon seen holding in pools however there was a large amount moving upriver at the time of this report.   The lower section reported moder angler density with moderate success, with Kings and Cohos and Steelhead sighted and brought to hand. Fish were seen both holding and moving upriver.   The middle section reported high angler density with moderate to good angler success, again Kings and Coho were moving upstream and holding in pools.   The upper section has high angler density with moderate to good angler success, Kings, Coho and Steelhead moving upriver and holding in pools.   The top section reported low angler volume, with slow angler success. Kings moving up-river.   Overall, the fishing bumped up a notch with steelhead making up more of the species seen or brought to hand.  Total rain fall so far has been less than ½” but certainly seemed to increase the overall numbers of fish moving into and up the river.   Tomorrow’s weather: “Mostly Sunny Skies.  Slight chance of a shower throughout the evening with winds from the N / NW at 10-20mph.
