WALK-UP PASS PROCEDURES: due to our current online "sold-out" status, for at least the next several weeks, we implemented our walk-up daily access fishing pass procedures this morning, for both full-day and afternoon-only passes; here is the link to our walk-up pass procedures: https://douglastonsalmonrun.com/walkup/ The flow from the dam is scheduled to remain at 200 CFS until 09/19/2025 11:59 PM. The CFS at the Pineville gauge is currently 198. Current conditions are: blue skies, bright sunshine, 54 degrees (high of 66 degrees forecasted), moderate breezes, no precipitation. Water temperature is 63 degrees. River Patrol 9 AM fishing report (this report is a subjective, generalized, evaluation of fishing conditions within large, yet specific, areas of the run, compiled through personal observations of the River Patrol assigned to these areas, as well as those of our surveyed guests angling within these areas, over a span of several hours, and may differ from your personal observations): NOTE: we train our River Patrol to report uniformly, to the following criteria regarding guest density within the particular section of the river run which they patrol: "Low" = few anglers - plenty of space"; "Moderate" = some anglers - some space left"; "High" = crowded - at capacity (with a) rod length in-between (one rod length minimum distance between anglers is defined as with the rod butt on the hip, extended to the side)". Even these descriptions are relative, as at our capacity of 250 guests, we still have 2.5 miles of river, both sides of the river generally accessible, wherein our guests may fish. These same descriptions may not apply to other areas of the river outside of the DSR, where elbow to elbow is sometimes the norm. The estuary section reported low guest density, slow fishing activity, with a mix of Chinook (King) and Coho salmon moving upriver; there were not any significant pods of fish present, those that were present were primarily in the center channel. The lower section reported moderate guest density in the lower half, with moderate fishing activity; low guest density in the upper half, with slow fishing activity; a mix of Kings and Cohos in the lower half, with primarily Kings in the upper half; that were all moving upriver until daytime, but a percentage of which are now holding in pools. The middle section reported moderate guest density in the lower half, with moderate fishing activity; high guest density in the upper half, with moderate fishing activity; a mix of Kings and Cohos; that are moving upriver, with a percentage holding in pools. The upper section reported moderate guest density in the lower half, with slow fishing activity; high guest density in the upper half, with moderate fishing activity; a mix of Kings and Cohos; that are moving upriver, with a percentage holding in pools. The top section reported low guest density, slow fishing activity, with primarily Kings both moving upriver as well as holding in pools. The forecast for tonight is: "Clear skies. Low 38F. Winds light and variable". The forecast for tomorrow is: "Mostly sunny skies. High 69F. Winds light and variable".
