River Patrol 9 AM fishing report (this report is a subjective, generalized, evaluation of fishing conditions within large, yet specific, areas of the run, compiled through personal observations of the River Patrol assigned to these areas, as well as those of our guests angling within these areas, over a span of several hours, and may differ from your personal observations):
In order to interpret our fishing report, here is a link to our river map of the DSR portion of the river: https://douglastonsalmonrun.com/property-map/ . This is a breakdown of terms we are using, to allow you to interpret the fishing reports for your own use:
Estuary section: lowest part of the DSR property, essentially from the lower property line upriver to # 28 (Bobber Hole) on the DSR river map;
Lower Section: the area of the river from # 28 (Bobber Hole) upriver to #20 (Spring Hole);
Middle Section: the area of the river from #20 (Spring Hole) upriver to # 9 (Glide);
Upper Section: the area of the river from # 9 (Glide) to # 3 (Black Hole);
Top Section: the area of the river from # 3 (Black Hole) to # 1 (Employee Hole) and the upper property line.
The estuary section reported low guest density, enjoying moderate angling activity, with "a lot!" of both Chinook (King) and Coho salmon holding in the area, specifically the North channel. This report echoes the last two days of morning reports.
.
The lower section reported moderate (bottom half) to low (upper half) guest density, with slow (bottom half) to quiet (upper half) angling activity, some Coho in the bottom half, with King salmon throughout both halves, which are both holding in pools as well as moving upriver.
The middle section reported moderate (bottom half) to low (upper half) guest density, with moderate (bottom half) to slow (upper half) angling activity, predominately Coho in the bottom half, with King salmon throughout both halves, which are both holding in pools as well as most of the rest of the fish moving upriver..
The upper section reported moderate (bottom half) to low (upper half) guest density, with slow (bottom half) to moderate (upper half) angling activity, some Coho in the bottom half, with King salmon throughout both halves, which are all moving upriver.
.
The top section reported low guest density, with quiet angling activity, all Kings moving upriver.
WALK-UP PASS PROCEDURES:
We anticipate, perhaps by the end of this week, due to increased pass sales and guest density, implementing our walk-up daily access fishing pass procedures soon. Please purchase online passes in advance, if possible. If not, here is the link to our walk-up pass procedures: https://douglastonsalmonrun.com/walkup/
STAGGERED RELEASE:
Effective through Saturday, 1 November, we are conducting our staggered release schedule. The release schedule may be found at https://douglastonsalmonrun.com/release-schedule/
MANOR HOUSE GUESTS:
We recognize the need for both timely and accurate information regarding the fishing activities of our Manor House guests, in order for all guests to plan their own fishing activities.
At this time, our first scheduled date for Manor House guests to fish will be Monday, 22 September 2025. We will publish the fishing plans of our Manor House guests for that day, as well as the status of the reserved area(s), on the prior evening's fishing report (Sunday, 21 September 2025). This same procedure, of announcing the Manor Guest fishing plans the evening ahead, will hold true for any other day that we have scheduled Manor House guests on the run. This information will be reinforced or updated by both Guest Services and River Patrol during the morning phased releases.
Any further updates during the day will be published to the on-duty Guest Services Staff to alert guest checking-in throughout the day. On duty River Patrol will also verbally inform guests present around or within the reserved areas, as well as change the on-stream signage to indicate the current status of the Manor Guest reserved fishing areas.
The forecast for tonight is: "Partly cloudy skies. Low 52F. Winds light and variable.". The forecast for tomorrow is: "Sunny, along with a few afternoon clouds. High 76F. Winds WSW at 5 to 10 mph.".
