Today's Report

September 15, 2025

MANOR HOUSE GUESTS: We recognize the need for both timely and accurate information regarding the fishing activities of our Manor House guests, in order for all guests to plan their own fishing activities. At this time, our first scheduled date for Manor House guests to fish will be Monday, 22 September 2025. We will publish the fishing plans of our Manor House guests for that day, as well as the status of the reserved area(s), on the prior evening's fishing report (Sunday, 21 September 2025). This same procedure, of announcing the Manor Guest fishing plans the evening ahead, will hold true for any other day that we have scheduled Manor House guests on the run. This information will be reinforced or updated by both Guest Services and River Patrol during the morning phased releases. Any further updates during the day will be published to the on-duty Guest Services Staff to alert guest checking-in throughout the day. On duty River Patrol will also verbally inform guests present around or within the reserved areas, as well as change the on-stream signage to indicate the current status of the Manor Guest reserved fishing areas. DEER RUN LODGE IS AVAILABLE September 16 – 20, 2025. This lodge is available only for this year; you will not be able to rebook for 2026. If interested, the lodge cannot be booked online, so please call the DSR Welcome Center (315) 298-6672 press ‘0’ to speak with a Guest Services member about booking the lodge. You may book one or all the dates. As a matter of interest, the rate is $330 per night for anywhere from one to three guests, $400 per night for four guests, $475 per night for five guests, plus 12% taxes. STAGGERED RELEASE. Effective through Saturday, 1 November, we are conducting our staggered release schedule. The release schedule may be found at https://douglastonsalmonrun.com/release-schedule/ WALK-UP PASS PROCEDURES. We anticipate, perhaps by the end of this week, due to increased pass sales and guest density, implementing our walk-up daily access fishing pass procedures soon. Please purchase online passes in advance, if possible. If not, here is the link to our walk-up pass procedures: https://douglastonsalmonrun.com/walkup/ The flow from the dam is scheduled to remain at 200 CFS until 09/15/2025 11:59 PM. The CFS at the Pineville gauge is currently 205. Current conditions are hazy blue skies, sunshine, 58 degrees (high of 75 degrees forecasted), dead calm, no precipitation. Water temperature is 62 degrees. River Patrol 9 AM fishing report (this report is a subjective, generalized, evaluation of fishing conditions within large, yet specific, areas of the run, compiled through personal observations of the River Patrol assigned to these areas, as well as those of our guests angling within these areas, over a span of several hours, and may differ from your personal observations): The estuary section reported no anglers present, but did observe Chinook (King) salmon both moving upriver and holding in pools. The bottom part of the lower section reported an high volume of anglers, tapering to a low volume further up; achieving good angling success in the lower part, and slow angling success in the upper part; with Kings, Cohos, and Brown Trout in the lower part ("hundreds of fish"), and Kings only in the upper part, which are moving upriver as well as holding in some of the deeper pools. The middle section reported moderate guest density, slow fishing activity, with a mix of Kings and Cohos, moving upriver as well as holding in the section. The upper section reported moderate tapering to low guest density further up, slow ramping up to moderate angling activity further up, with a mix of Kings and Cohos, both moving upriver as well as holding in pools.
