1000 CFS Dam Release

April 15, 2025

CFS at the Salmon Reservoir dam started the day at 750 CFS, where it remained throughout the day, however it will then bump up to 1000 CFS tonight, at 9 PM, and it is scheduled to remain at that flow until at least midnight on 16 April 2025. CFS at the Pineville gauge is 1050. Our air temperatures have been in the low to mid 50s all day, it was generally overcast with sporadic clearing and sunshine, we had some morning sprinkling, and a front moved into our immediate area around 11 AM, heralded with strong winds that settled back down fairly quickly. Water temperature was 47 degrees Fahrenheit. An handful of guests joined us on the run, starting as early as 6 AM and trickling in as late as 3 PM. It was a tough day, with almost all leaving the run after only a couple of hours of angling; perhaps the front moving into the area shut down the fish. One guided client reporting 1 / 2 on a small Steelhead. We have overnight snow forecasted for the area tonight, with a low of 33 degrees. The forecast for tomorrow is: "Becoming windy with snow showers. High 39F. Winds W at 20 to 30 mph. Chance of snow 50%. Winds could occasionally gust over 40 mph."
