CFS at the dam just dropped to 750, where it will remain until midnight tomorrow, CFS at the Pineville gauge remained steady at 1130 all day. Air temperatures were just below freezing this morning, and only rose to a high of 38 degrees Fahrenheit today. We were overcast, with light and variable winds, and some sprinkling rain late in the afternoon into early evening. Our water temperature was 42 degrees; it won't be too much longer before we start seeing a lot of Smallmouth Bass entering the run, so plan your trip here soon for that angling experience. A handful of guests joined us today, trickling in from early morning through the early afternoon. Our first guest to leave the run fished for four hours, casting spinners, but was unsuccessful. The next several guests put in more time, using egg sacks and beads under a bobber, and reported "ones and twos" for Steelhead in the 6 # range. All of these guests remarked that they walked the length of the run in order to achieve what they did. There will be rain showers overnight, with a low of 36 degrees. The forecast for tomorrow is: "Rain showers early with overcast skies later in the day. High near 45F. Winds ESE at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 50%."
