9 AM River Patrol fishing report: CFS at the dam 500, CFS at the Pineville gauge 710 to start, has since dropped to 702 as of this report, opening air temperature 51 degrees, water temperature 58 degrees, mostly cloudy with scattered patches of blue peeking through, resulting in periodic sunshine, dead calm, no rain for at least the morning hours - the estuary section reported neither guests nor fish are present in that section - just upriver, a combination of predominately Steelhead, with a sprinkling of Chinook ("King") salmon, both species holding in that area, are providing "slow" action for our guests (hookups few and far between) - as we move upriver into the lower section of the run, the guest action ramps up from "slow" at the lower portion of that section, to "moderate" (hooking up, but could be better) at the upper portion of this section - lower, the fish are both holding in pools, as well as moving upriver - higher, all of the fish are moving through this section - the predominant fish are Steelhead, with a sprinkling of both King and Coho salmon - in the middle section the report is exactly the same as for the lower section, with the exception that there appears to be an equal mix of fish species - the upper section reported fish actively moving through, with Steelhead, Kings, and Cohos providing "moderate" action for our guests
featured are Les ("KC" hat), with a nice Atlantic Salmon, guided by DSR Guide Brian Ferman of High Hook Guide Service; Andy with yet another Atlantic Salmon for this year (!); Eric (black hat) with a decent Steelhead
