While we've seen off and on rain and heavy overcast, air and water temperatures have steadily risen over the week. Morning water temperatures at the start of the week were a recorded 54 F, and today 60 F, reaching about 64 F by mid day despite fairly heavy overcast. A reduction in the dam release mid week from 500 CFS to 350 CFS, likely contributed to the fairly quick increase in the water temps. Overall, a majority of the anglers that joined us this week indicated productive outings with mostly smallmouth bass reported, with the addition of a couple of lingering drop-back steelhead. Also typical for this time of year, reports of gar in the lower sections of the property. According to Safewaters, the dam release was adjusted mid day today, from 350 to 215 CFS, where it is currently scheduled to remain until 11:59 PM tomorrow (5/18). Please monitor safewaters.com/facility/lighthouse-hill for updated dam release scheduling.
