The weather this morning was cloudy, overcast, and cooler than we had expected, but by this afternoon the skies lightened up, the sun came out, and temperatures rose well into the 60's. It ended up being a beautiful Spring day. The anglers that fished the run today reported getting into a few Steelhead and bass today. As is usually the case, some did better that others, but overall I would say that it was a decent day. While it's hard to establish a pattern (with changing weather and water flow) it does seem that the drop back season is winding down. It looks like the weather will be more consistent for the next several days, the water flow will be dropping to 350cfs at midnight tonight, and that should allow us to get a better idea as to the state of affairs. Flow from the dam is currently (pun intended) at 500cfs but will be going to 350cfs at midnight tonight and the flow at Pineville is presently 560cfs (which is down from 660cfs earlier today) which suggests that they may have already dropped the water from the dam.
