Today was, in many ways, the opposite of yesterday. Today we had significantly cooler temperatures than yesterday, we had sunny skies in the morning that gave way to clouds in the afternoon and today it was the other way around, and the fishing was clearly much improved from yesterday. The anglers that I spoke with rather than describing it as "tough" thought, overall, the fishing was very good. Clearly more Steelhead were brought to hand and significantly more smallmouth bass came out to play today. We will have some cold overnight temperatures in the forecast for the next couple of days and we'll have to wait and see how that plays out. The flow is to remain at 500cfs from the dam through midnight tomorrow and the current flow at the Pineville gauge is 641cfs (and holding steady). We had no water temperature readings for today, but there is little doubt that it has cooled down some (and will continue so over the next several days).
