195 CFS Dam Release

April 21, 2024

Another interesting mixture of conditions today, with a light rain turning to brief snow showers, and then to clear blue skies.  Temperatures dropped into the mid 30's last night, making for a cold start to a late April morning.  Despite the colder morning, most of our anglers joined us early this morning, taking advantage of the overcast before this afternoon's clear blue skies.  Based on reports from our anglers today this morning, a few anglers had success with steelhead, while this afternoon, a majority of the reports were of smallmouth with little mention of steelhead.  Most angling efforts were focused in the middle sections of the property, with a few anglers venturing down to the lower sections but indicating a rather difficult time given the winds.  The current dam release is scheduled to remain at 500 CFS until 11:59 PM tomorrow (4/22).  Please monitor safewaters.com/facility/lighthouse-hill for updated dam release scheduling.
