The weather cooperated, for the most part today. Some wind, and a few quick stints of fairly heavy rain. But otherwise temperatures remained comfortable hanging in the mid 50's throughout the day with plenty of overcast. Water temperatures began a reported 44 F and only increased to 45 F by mid day. After rain yesterday and again today, run off continues to keep the Pineville gauge up, with a current flow of 566 CFS. Despite the continued runoff, water clarity was not reported to be an issue today. Based on reports from our anglers, today was definitely a good day. Both comfortable and productive. Anglers filtered onto the property beginning at first light through mid afternoon. Ultimately it sounds like this morning fished the best, with most reporting fish right off the bat, and then bit of a lull carrying into the afternoon. With another good turnout today, a majority of the run was covered, but upper sections of the property indicated the greatest success with a mix of well mended drop-backs and a few fresh steelhead. At this time the dam release is scheduled to increase from 295 to 750 CFS at 9:00 PM tonight (4/14), where it is scheduled to remain until 11:59 PM tomorrow night (4/15). Please monitor safewaters.com/facility/lighthouse-hill for updated dam release scheduling.
