195 CFS Dam Release

March 16, 2024

A bit colder today than it was yesterday with temperatures starting out in the 30's and reaching just shy of 50 F.  This morning we had plenty of overcast with some light rain, which ultimately turned into a fairly sunny day this afternoon.  With a colder start to the morning, anglers trickled onto the run late morning, with a few joining us this afternoon.  Some of our anglers that joined us yesterday, joined us again today, indicating a better day today.  But, that wasn't the case for all.  Again, just about half of our anglers were able to land multiple fish in their outings, while the other half had a tough go at things, especially once the sun broke free of the clouds.  It seems that the drop backs that were coming through this afternoon were certainly on a mission, with a number of anglers commenting on their acrobatics, having seen multiple steelhead flying out of the water making their way down river.  The current dam release is scheduled to remain at 500 CFS until 11:59 PM tomorrow (3/17).  Please monitor safewaters.com/facility/lighthouse-hill for updated dam release scheduling.
