CFS at the dam 1000 (dropping to 750 at 7 AM tomorrow morning, then to 500 at 9 PM tomorrow evening), CFS at the Pineville gauge 1310 - air temperature at opening time was 14 degrees, climbing to our high of 29 degrees at 1 PM, and slowly dropping to it's current 24 degrees - it has been an overcast day, with an ultrafine, dry lake-effect snow falling from around 10 AM through now, about 2" of accumulation to add to our prior 3" - winds were generally light, except for a brief period early afternoon when it was a bit gusty - nine guests joined us on the run today - the first ones to show up, at opening time, was a trio of first-timers to the DSR, who fished the morning without success, took a short break for lunch at noon, then fished the afternoon for a couple of hours, again without success . . . our next guest (a seasoned angler) came off the run at 3 PM, reporting no success either . . . our last guest came off the run a bit after 5 PM, covered in snow, reporting 1 / 1 Steelhead earlier in the morning (he, too, had taken a short break in his fishing), but nothing for the afternoon - a tough day all-around . . . the forecast for tonight is: Cloudy with snow showers mainly during the evening. Low around 15F. Winds ESE at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of snow 50%. The forecast for tomorrow is: Cloudy and becoming windy with snow showers in the morning. High near 35F. Winds W at 20 to 30 mph. Chance of snow 50%. Snow accumulations less than one inch.
