February 6, 2023

Back to blue bird skies, with temperatures reaching a high of 38 F today!  The reprieve in the weather conditions brought around a half dozen anglers to the run today.  Though our anglers had some comfortable conditions, it may not have been optimal, now with lower water and no overcast in the equation.  On top of it, the ice and snow that we’ve accumulated as of recently, is melting fairly quickly in the current conditions.  A few anglers reported they eagerly headed to the bottom end of the property, but nearly stopped in their tracks with a mess of snow and ice damming things up quite a bit and diverting water in precarious places.  Definitely surprising how rapidly the environment and fishing opportunity has changed as result of all this crazy weather. Overall, the anglers we spoke with today indicated a successful trip, each reporting several fish landed.  Temperatures will drop just a bit tonight, but expected to bounce back up, and break freezing by 10:00 AM tomorrow even amidst the expected wind.  High winds are expected tomorrow from 5 MPH to 17 MPH, with gusts up to 36 MPH.
