CFS at the dam 360, CFS at the Pineville gauge just above 500 all day - air temperature started at 32 degrees this morning, climbed to our high of 40 degrees, and has fallen back to freezing as of this report - skies were mostly overcast, with some infrequent moments of diffused sunshine from scattered breaks - bands of very fine lake- effect snow periodically swept through our area, with snow becoming heavier as we approached dusk - winds were light throughout the day, stiffening a bit towards the evening - we had 17 total guests join us on the run, starting at 7 AM to as late as 2 PM - of the 12 guests I was able to speak to directly, as they came off the run, not a single one of them failed to at least get into one fish; today was a nice cap on three days of really good Steelhead fishing! Here are their stories (Steelhead, one guest reporting, unless noted): 12:21 PM 3 / 6 drifting pink and chartreuse egg sacks under a bobber in the middle section; 2:28 PM 8 / "15 at least" (includes one Brown Trout, two 30" Steelhead) drifting white egg sacks and all colors of beads (green glow best) under a bobber - this guest stated he fished the top to the bottom today; 2:56 PM 0 / 1 swinging flies in the lower section; 3:30 PM 3 / 6 drifting beads under a bobber in the middle to lower sections; 4:08 PM a pair of guests who landed 5 and 6 respectively, of 15 each, drifting pink and blue egg sacks, under a bobber, in the middle to lower sections; 4:20 PM a father and son team who achieved 3 / 6 between them, drifting white egg sacks under a bobber in the upper section; 4:22 PM a pair of guests who stated "(A) lot of fish!" on their way out; 5:10 PM another father and son duo, still learning how to Steelhead fish, very pleased with their tally of 2 / 3 and 1 / 2 for today - forecast for tonight: Snow likely. Low 31F. Winds W at 15 to 25 mph. Chance of snow 100%. 3 to 5 inches of snow expected. Forecast for tomorrow: Snow during the morning will transition to snow showers during the afternoon.
