195 CFS Dam Release

November 9, 2022

consolidated River Patrol fishing report: CFS 335 at the dam, CFS 442 at the Pineville gauge - water temperature this morning was 37 degrees - air temperature started out not much above freezing and climbed to it's current 56 degrees - hazy blue skies, sunshine, moderate winds made for a nice enough day - from first light until about 9 AM there was a decent amount of action throughout the run with Steelhead, but typically, as soon as the sun rose above the trees, they all hunkered down - it remained a slow and irregular pick throughout the remainder of the day, with varied reports from guests leaving the run - high rod today was apparently 4/ 7 on Steelhead - overnight temperature will be 41 degrees - the forecast for tomorrow is: Mostly sunny skies. High 66F. Winds SSE at 5 to 10 mph. Looks like Friday we are looking at a lot of rain throughout the day and that night, with chances for rain continuing through the weekend in the 60th and 70th percentiles - no idea how that will effect CFS at the dam, or in our part of the run, however overcast conditions and increased flows are usually a trigger for greater fish activity throughout the day
