1270 CFS Pineville Gauge
1000 CFS Dam Release

December 9, 2022

CFS at the dam was 1200 for today, but around 2:30 AM tomorrow morning the CFS is scheduled to drop to 750 - CFS at the Pineville gauge started at 1480 this morning, and dropped to 1420 as of this report - air temperatures hovered near freezing all day, skies were overcast early this morning and cleared to hazy blue and sunshine during the late morning - winds were light most of the day, with occasional gusts - 25 guests joined us on the run today - as our first guests started coming off the run around 10:40 AM, we received initial very favorable reports of 3 / 3 (to include a Brown Trout) and 2 / 4 Steelhead - over the course of the day ten other guests reported from one through four Steelhead, with an additional brace of Brown Trout in the mix (one in the 20" range) - the remaining seven anglers were skunked - all of the guests leaving the run after a full day were in agreement that the morning was very active, however the action died off abruptly, probably due to the brilliant sunshine - the Steelhead were described as "cookie cutters" (6-8# range) but most were brilliant chrome - all in all, it was a "nice day" to be out on the run - our overnight low will be 24F, and the forecast for tomorrow is: Winds NNE at 5 to 10 mph. Sunny. High 39F. Winds light and variable.
