Current Conditions

September 3rd, 12:44 p.m: We did not see as many fish on the move this morning as we have been seeing. It is very hot and sunny which has movement at a standstill. I did speak to captains from here and Oswego last night. They said it has finally really heated up on the lake. They are catching good numbers and huge fish. The LOC tournament is going on and the leader is a King tipping the scales at over 39lbs!! The weather is taking a turn in the right direction and anglers should be rewarded over the weekend. The river is going to 750cfs and we are getting a big blow out of the west.

LODGE UPDATE: For the past two years many of our lodge customers have complained about the cable service in our houses especially during football season. As of today all of the DSR houses now have Direct TV service. This was a direct result of the e-mails you send us, so please continue to send concerns and ideas to fish@douglastonsalmonrun.com.

CHANGE ON THE RUN: Starting the opening day of the 2010-11 season in August, the DSR will be 100% CATCH AND RELEASE for ALL Trout species and Atlantic Salmon. We will still allow customers to keep their limit of Chinook and Coho salmon, but trout and atlantics will ALL have to be released. We hope that this will have a positive impact, not only on the DSR , but on the entire river system. Every fish that is released is one that will have that much more opportunity to spawn and live another day for another angler. If anyone has any questions or concerns on this change please contact me at jason@douglastonsalmonrun.com

LODGING: We are now taking booking for the 2010 season. At this time we do still have some dates available in our lodges for September and October. However these select dates are filling very fast. Please contact us if you have any lodging needs for 2010 @ 315-298-6672.
