Salmon River Chapter Features In New Book
Fly fishing book to be published in 2014
few months ago, author Robert Mallard contacted the DSR with an
opportunity to write a chapter about the Salmon River for his new book 50 Best Places to Fly Fish the North East. A travel guide targeted to avid fly fishermen, 50 Best Places...
uses local contributors to highlight best locations to fly fish in our
part of the country. It's kind of a regional bucket list for fly
Published by Stonefly Press as part of a series, ‘50 Best Places to Fly Fish’ is a full color travel guide, retailing around $29.99. Fisheries from Pennsylvania to Maine are included, with focus on trout and other fly fishing favorite species. Local fly shops, lodges, guides
and other helpful information will be included in each chapter to help the
angler plan their trip to each destination.
Writing the chapter was hard work
but I was honored to be given the opportunity not only for myself or the DSR
but for those of us who know and appreciate the world class Salmon River fishery. To be able to share that knowledge with those
anglers who have not yet had the chance made it even more gratifying. Where else in the contiguous U.S. does an angler have the opportunity to catch
a king, coho, and Atlantic salmon along with rainbows, browns, and steelhead in
such size and numbers, all from the same waters?
We hope everyone will enjoy
reading the Salmon River chapter as much as I did writing it and we will be
sure to keep everyone posted on the books intended release date and where
you’ll be able to purchase it (including the new DSR online storefront, COMING SOON!).
